SLA Uptime Calculator

Enter an SLA uptime target and see the allowed downtime it implies across a year, month, week, and day, plus what a CTDISR-2025 compliant BCP must document for that target.

What this tool does

An SLA is the uptime you promise a customer, such as 99.9%. That looks almost perfect, but it still allows real outage time. Enter your target below and this tool shows the actual downtime it permits across a year, month, week, and day, so you can see what you are really committing to and whether your network can deliver it.

Your SLA target

For reference: 99% allows about 3.65 days of downtime a year, 99.9% about 8.8 hours, and 99.99% about 53 minutes
Recovery Time Objective: the longest an outage should last before service is back
Recovery Point Objective: how far back your last good backup can be
